A Tale Of Two Towns

Yesterday, I told you about Bridgeport Police Chief Rebecca Garcia taking drinkable water from her officers while she just got a newly furnished office. This type of petty conduct is the exception to the rule. A couple of weeks ago the Southport section of Fairfield had a robbery along with a few stolen cars. Fairfield Police Chief Bob Kalamaras held a safety meeting with citizens and town officials. He lead the meeting off by saying "We have an incredible police force. GOVERNOR LAMONT AND SECRETARY MERRILL ANNOUNCE UPDATE OF CONNECTICUT’S BUSINESS REGISTRATION SYSTEM, MAKING IT EASIER FOR BUSINESSES TO INTERACT WITH STATE GOVERNMENT

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Secretary of the State Denise Merrill announced that the State of Connecticut’s business registration system has been upgraded and is now fully integrated with Business.CT.gov, the state’s business portal that serves as a one-stop-shop for businesses and entrepreneurs to navigate state government requirements as effectively and quickly as possible. Instead of logging in to a separate business registration system after creating a checklist at Business.CT.gov, entrepreneurs now have a built-in experience. Connecticut’s business portal launched in the summer of 2020 and has been rapidly expanding under the administration’s efforts to build an all-digital state government. Among other…

Another source came forward and said Chief Rebecca Garcia got all new furniture in her office last month. With Thanksgiving upon us, you really wouldn’t think that drinking water at work would be something to be thankful for. That is the case at the Bridgeport Police Department. A number of sources said that right after the courts ruled that the city was wrong to name Rebeca Garcia as assistant police chief in 2019 the water deliveries stopped. Officers checked into whether it was a non-payment issue but I’ve learned that the chief told the union that “potable drinking water” is not a requirement. I reached out to union president Brad Sealy, I left a voice mail that said I reached…
