Trumbull News 2 Arrested
Two (2) Bridgeport residents, were arrested on Tuesday afternoon, July 27, aftershoplifting from the Westfield Trumbull Mall, then attempted to enter a stolen vehiclebefore running from police.Janet Gonzalez, age 42, of Central Avenue, and Carlos Hernandez, age 32, of NobleAvenue, left Macy’s with almost $2000 worth of unpaid for clothing. Macy’s securityinitially attempted to stop them, but they left the store. Trumbull Police officers werenotified and assisted in apprehending Gonzalez who was in the parking lot, andattempting to enter the driver’s side of a stolen Chevrolet Cruz, as Hernandez ran fromthe scene. Gonzalez had her right hand behind her back and squared off in anaggressive manner towards the arriving officer. The officer yelled for Gonzalez to stop,but she ran away…

Fairfield News: Banking Scam
#Fairfield CT-- A Division Avenue resident called police regarding a banking scam. They received a call from someone claiming to be the fraud department from her bank. They said that the account was hacked and there were multiple withdrawals happening. The victim supplied her email, social security and account number. She later learned that the email was used to create a Zelle Account and $2120.00 was withdrawn from her account. Her social security account was also used to make a false stimulus claim and unemployment benefits in California. Non-Profit Safety Grant
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration is awarding $3.8 million in grants to cover the costs associated with implementing needing security infrastructure improvements at the facilities of 97 nonprofit organizations in Connecticut. The grants are being awarded under the state’s newly launched Nonprofit Security Grant Program, which was announced by the governor in February. Administered by the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, the program is intended to improve security at 501(c)(3) organizations that are at heightened risk of being the target of a terrorist attack, hate crime, or violent act. Eligible nonprofits are able to receive a maximum of $50,000 per site. Today’s announcement of $3.8 million for 97 nonprofits are the first round of grants awarded…
