Dog Starts Fire In Bridgeport

2021-05-13@9:44pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Deputy Chief Buck said when they arrived on Pixlee Place, they were met with heavy fire on the third floor. Once they began "opening up" the fire became too intense and they had to sound the evaluation tones to get all the firefighters out of the building. They then got the fire under control and then worked to put out the hot spots. Third floor tenant Evan Werner said his friend that was dog sitting said their dog Ruby knocked over a candle onto a bed which started the fire. ​Everyone made it out safely. Bridgeport News: 2 Injured In Collapse

2021-04-11@10:25pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Two college students were injured when the front porch stoop collapsed plunging them down 12 feet in the 600 block of Queen Street. The assistant fire chief said it was something he's never seen before. A cement slap was placed over the the foundation and over the years the cement eroded causing the collapse. The students were able to get themselves out of the hole prior to the firefighters arrival.

Bridgeport News: Narcotics Team On Administrative Leave

#Bridgeport CT-- Last night, the Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) was put on administrative leave after serving a warrant on Chestnut Street. They knocked on the door, properly announcing themselves when a man jumped out of a second story window to escape, but landed wrong and died as a result. The state police are investigating and the bodycams support that the team used proper procedure. Rumor has it that Chief Garcia wanted to disband the team get get more officers on patrol.
