Bridgeport News: Motorcycle Crash

Police UPDATE: On May 2, 2020 at approximately 7:25 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received the report of a Motor Vehicle vs Motorcycle at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Lenox Avenue.   The operator of a 1993 Honda CBR600, identified as Terrell McCrae DOB 7/31/1993 of Bridgeport was traveling westbound on Fairfield Avenue, as he approached the intersection of Lenox Avenue a 2003Toyota Camry operated by Serafin Perez-Palma DOB 10/12/1996 of Bridgeport had come out from Lenox Avenue, turning westbound onto Fairfield Avenue and collided with the motorcycle driven by McCrae. The motorcycle then collided with 2 parked vehicles.   Bridgeport Fire Department, AMR, and the Bridgeport Police Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene.   The operator…

Bridgeport News: Garage Fire

2020-05-02 @ 6:20pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A car caught fire inside a detached garage catching the garage on fire in the 200 block of Wheeler Avenue.  Firefighters were quick to extinguish it before it extended to a nearby home.  Police were called to the scene shortly after the fire was extinguished due to fighting that broke out between two people.

Bridgeport News: East Main Construction

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim announces a State Department of Transportation safety improvement project currently underway on Route 127, East Main Street. Due to current pandemic circumstances, the original construction was paused, and progress delayed. Construction resumed April 27, 2020, and will take place Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm. Detours will be in place to redirect motorists around the project during the weekday construction hours. The safety improvement project, happening near the intersection of Evers Street and East Main Street, will cause detours onto Broadbridge Road and Huntington Turnpike. The entirety of the project is scheduled to be completed around November 2021 and was designed to help reduce the high accident rate in the surrounding area by increasing the…

Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport announces PhysicianOne Urgent Care will be conducting COVID-19 testing for all Bridgeport First Responders on Saturday, May 2nd and Wednesday, May 6th. First Responders do not need to be current or previous patients of PhysicianOne Urgent Care to receive testing. First Responders must register before 8pm on Thursday, April 30th for Saturday testing, and before 8pm on Monday, May 4th for Wednesday testing. Today BMW of Bridgeport provided lunch to the Bridgeport Police Department as part of their effort to give back to the first responders during the pandemic. Last week BMW of Bridgeport provides lunch to American Medical Response (AMR) and the week before that medical teams at Bridgeport Hospital.
