NEW HAVEN, CT) – This afternoon on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University, Governor Ned Lamont led the first meeting of the Governor’s Workforce Council, a historic group of leaders representing the diversity of stakeholders across the state that are involved in education, training, hiring, and economic development. Attorney General Warns About Phone Scam

Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong and Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull today warned Eversource consumers that scammers may have gained access to customer account numbers and have been using this information in attempts to defraud consumers. Complaints to the Office of the Attorney General regarding robocall utility shut-off scams continue to increase and consumers are advised to be vigilant. The scam involves a "spoofed" call purporting to be from Eversource. In some cases, the scammer may demand to install a new meter and threaten to shut off power if not immediately paid $300. Westport News: Drug Arrest After Welfare Check

2019-11-03@ 12:24am #Westport CT-- Police officers responded to Compo Road North near Brookside Drive on a check welfare complaint. It was reported that a pedestrian was walking unsafely in the traveled portion of the roadway and there was a concern that he could potentially be struck by a passing vehicle. Responding officers located the individual in question who was initially uncooperative with officers trying to assist him and did not wish to identify himself. He was however ultimately identified as Ray Gaither. Computers checks of Gaither revealed two active warrants for his arrest for previous violations of the terms of his probation. Stratford News: Body Recovered In Water Rescue Of Capsized Boat

This morning at approximately 10:30am, Coast Guard Long Island Sound announced over marine frequency a capsized boat located in the area of Middle Ground, Long Island Sound,  Stratford Shoal Buoy #2 ( 4 subjects originally on board a 17’ center counsel boat). The USCG responded from Eaton’s Neck New York, located 3 male victims, and took them safely onto their vessel.  Those 3 victims were transported to the Bridgeport Water Street Dock where medics began treatment and transported them to Bridgeport Hospital. The Bridgeport Police Marine Unit responded to “Middle Ground” with Ofcs. Del Valle and Peslak.  They were met by the Fairfield Police Marine Unit.  The fourth male victim was located in the water southwest of the Middle Ground light house.  Ofc.…

Operation Comfort Critters

#Bridgeport CT--#Easton CT-- How about some likes for Cub Scout Troop 166 and Kevin Burwell of AMR on Operation Comfort Critters?  Last year, Kevin Burwell launched Operation Comfort Critter to provide critters of comfort when AMR responds to a call dealing with a child, whether it be a child being transported or a child of a family member that is being transported to the hospital.  This year, Keven got a lot of help from Troop 166 from Easton's Samuel Staples Elementary School.  A box was left in the school's lobby and an appeal for gently used, non-battery stuffed animals  The troop, all second graders gathered 266 stuffed animals from the school for Operation Comfort Critters.   The critters are sanitized…
