Norwalk Detectives are investigating a vehicle burglary that occurred during the overnight hours of September 13, 2017 on Osborne Avenue. A credit card was stolen from the vehicle and was later used at CVS on Connecticut Avenue. The pictured suspect sued the stolen credit card to buy gift cards on September 15, 2017 at 7:53 am. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that RICHARD PISKE, 34, of Norwalk, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty today in New Haven federal court to one count of distribution of heroin. On July 22, 2017, Norwalk Police responded to a drug overdose at the Garden Park Motel at 351 Westport Avenue. A male victim was transported to the Norwalk Hospital due to the overdose. Norwalk Detectives began investigating this incident and quickly determined that Derrick Wiggins was a person of interest. Detectives worked with the Special Services Division, who subsequently arrested Wiggins on narcotics charges July 24, 2017. Based on Detective Dan Serio’s investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Derrick Wiggins charging him for his involvement with the overdose. #Westport, CT --#Norwalk CT---- On 08/09/17, at approximately 3:30am, Westport Officers were dispatched to Chapel Hill Road on a report of a motor vehicle theft in progress. The responding Officer observed a gray GMC Acadia on West Parish Road traveling at a high rate of speed. The Officer attempted to stop the vehicle but it sped off onto the Post Road. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on the Post Road when it turned around suddenly and attempted to strike 2 police vehicles. #Norwalk CT--On July 25, 2017, Patrol Officers responded to a suspicious person complaint on Washington Street. Officers located the suspect, Carlos Olivera on North Main Street. The Norwalk Police Department held an active arrest warrant for Olivera stemming from a sexual assault investigation conducted by the Special Victim’s Unit. SVU began the investigation on July 20, 2017 and quickly learned that Olivera had sexual contact with a victim who was known to him. During the assault, Olivera threatened to kill the victim’s family members if the victim told anyone.
