TRUMBULL NEWS: DISTURBANCE ATTRACTS POLICE ATTENTION AT SHOPPING CENTER

Police UPDATE:

Trumbull Police charged two (2) men for fighting and causing a disturbance at the Trumbull Stop & Shop on Quality Street on Friday, January 20, 2023. Robert Zacchia, age 55, of Madison Avenue, Trumbull, and Emmanuel Andriotis, age 19, of Old Town Road, Bridgeport were both arrested and charged for their involvement in this incident.

Police investigation learned that as Zacchia was walking through the Stop & Shop parking lot, Andriotis was driving. Both men then made eye contact and arm gestures toward each other. Andriotis circled the parking lot and returned to the area of Zacchia when Zacchia approached Andriotis’ vehicle and began yelling at him. Andriotis exited his vehicle and the men continued to yell at each other in the busy parking lot. Andriotis’ passenger began video recording the incident on their cell phone, so Zacchia approached and reached into the vehicle where he grabbed the cell phone. Andriotis then punched Zacchia in his head, causing Zacchia to fall to the ground and strike his head on the pavement. Zacchia was treated for his head injury, and no other injuries were reported.

Zacchia was later discharged from St. Vincent’s Hospital where he was charged with Breach of Peace in the Second Degree (2 counts), and was released on a Promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on January 30, 2023.

Andriotis was also charged with Breach of Peace in the Second Degree and was released on a Promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on January 30, 2023.

#Trumbull CT–A large police response resulted from numerous 911 calls reporting a disturbance at the local Stop & Shop grocery store on Quality Street late Friday afternoon, but they only found one (1) man who had been knocked unconscious in an altercation between two (2) men. At about 4:30 p.m., Trumbull Police responded to a disturbance at this Quality Street shopping center, for what was originally reported as a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Responding officers found two (2) men who had been involved in an argument outside in the driveway, which was followed by a face-to-face confrontation, and an exchange of them spitting on each other. One of the men punched the other, knocking him to the ground when the other man grabbed the arm of an acquaintance who was filming the incident on her cell phone. That injured man was treated at the scene by EMS personnel and transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for a head wound. There were no other injuries to any others involved. Officers remained on the scene to collect witness information and expected that charges would be lodged soon. A preliminary investigation had not been completed at the time of this release.

Trumbull News: Brawl At The Mall Formerly Known As Westfield Mall

#Trumbull CT–On Monday evening, January 16, 2023, Trumbull Police arrested a teenager after he was found to be carrying a hatchet and intimidating other youths inside of the Trumbull Mall. A fifteen (15) year old male from Bridgeport, was arrested and charged for his involvement in this incident. At approximately 7:00 p.m., as officers were working a security detail at the Trumbull Mall, due to a recent uptick in disturbances that have occurred, they were approached by a patron who pointed to a group of juveniles that were in the food court area. The patron advised officers that one of the juveniles was threatening others and he was holding an ax, which was later found to be a hatchet. Several juveniles were then observed running out of the mall into the parking lot near the food court area. The group of juveniles pointed to the lone male juvenile who was standing in the parking lot near Macy’s, and indicated that he had an ax or a machete in his possession. Officers then apprehended the suspect near the bus stop and found he was carrying a hatchet with a yellow and black handle concealed in his waistband. He was taken into custody without any further incident. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. The fifteen (15) year old male was arrested and brought to the Trumbull Police Headquarters where he was processed and criminally charged with Breach of Peace and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. Trumbull Pursuit Ends In Crash At SHU

2023-01-13@7:45pm–#Trumbull CT–Trumbull Police was in pursuit of a stolen car. The car crashed in front of Sacred Heart University at 5151 Park Avenue The five occupants fled in different directions. A female suspect appeared to be injured from the crash and she EMS was called to evaluate her injuries. At last count as of 8:30pm two male suspects are still at large and there is a heavy police presence it the area as police attempt to locate them.

NY MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING DELIVERY PACKAGES IN TRUMBULL

A New York man was arrested Wednesday, January 4, for package thefts from several Trumbull residences. Jesus Felix, age 23, of the Bronx, New York was charged with Larceny for stealing the packages, which contained Apple products worth more than $8,000.

At about 12:00 p.m., Trumbull police were notified of a male who was taking recently delivered packages from addresses near Inwood Road and Springwood Drive. The suspected male was observed stealing the delivered packages from the exterior of the residences and then getting into a white Mercedes-Benz.

Officers checked the area and eventually located the white Mercedes-Benz parked on the shoulder of Bassick Road, where Felix was the only occupant. Officers spoke with Felix who stated that he was picking up a package for his girlfriend and that she had the package delivered to the wrong address. Felix

was asked for information regarding his girlfriend and he told officers that she lived in the Dominican Republic, but that she had mailed a cell phone to the wrong address. Felix told officers that she had sent him a text message with the tracking information and the shipping address and he was retrieving the package. Felix then showed a text message to investigating officers which listed several different package delivery addresses.

Officers recovered two packages containing Apple I-Phones that were sent to different Trumbull residences, but the names on the packages did not match the residents of those addresses. Also located inside of the white Mercedes-Benz were additional packages containing three (3) additional Apple Pro Max I- Phones, and three (3) Apple Ultra I-Watches that were unused and in their original boxes which had also just been delivered. Felix would not say where these additional Apple products came from. All of the recovered Apple products totaled over $8,000.

Felix was then arrested and charged with Larceny in the Third Degree. He was held on a $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on January 13, 2023.

JUVENILE CAR THIEF ARRESTED IN TRUMBULL

Trumbull Police charged a juvenile boy after he ran from a stolen car that was parked at the Westfield Trumbull Mall, on Monday, December 19. The fifteen (15) year old suspect from Bridgeport was arrested and charged with auto theft for his involvement in this incident.

At approximately 5:30 PM, an officer patrolling the area of the mall observed a Toyota RAV4 driving onto mall property. The vehicle had been reported stolen to the Bridgeport police on December 18, and was also reported to have been involved an evading motor vehicle accident, where a pedestrian had been hit earlier in the evening.

The Toyota, occupied by two (2) males, parked on mall property when five (5) additional males walked towards the vehicle. As officers approached the Toyota, both occupants of the vehicle then exited the vehicle and began running away engaging Trumbull officers in a foot pursuit.

The fifteen (15) year old suspect was then apprehended on the Main Street ramp, as the others fled the scene. The apprehended suspect was placed under arrest, and a search of him revealed a flat head screw driver located in his sweatshirt pocket.

He was then transported to Trumbull Police Headquarters, where he identified himself to police under a false name and date of birth. Officers were later able to positively identify the teen who was then charged with Larceny 1st degree, and Interfering with Police. He was later released to the custody of his aunt on a Promise to Appear in Bridgeport Juvenile Court on December 28, 2022.
