Trumbull News: Pedestrian Struck

2019-09-24@8:53am–#Trumbull CT—A Trumbull man was seriously injured this morning when he was struck by a car on White Plains Road near the Route 25 overpass. The resident, a seventy-three year old man, was struck while attempting to cross White Plains Road in a marked crosswalk. At about 8:53 a.m., Trumbull Police responded to reports of a pedestrian that had been struck by a car. As officers arrived on scene, they located the male victim lying near the curb and who was receiving medical attention from others who had stopped at the scene. The striking vehicle was operated by a Trumbull woman who remained on scene after the collision. Trumbull EMS responded and treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to Bridgeport Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition. The Trumbull Police Department’s Traffic Division is currently investigating this incident; No charges have yet been filed. Police are requesting anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident to contact them at (203) 261-2665. The crosswalk where this collision occurred is part of the Rails-To-Trails pathway that links Bridgeport to Newtown.

Trumbull News: Senior Hit By 10 Shopping Carts

2019-09-09 @ 10: 50am–#Trumbull CT– First responders on the way to Home Depot at 90 Monroe Turnpike for an elderly man who was allegedly hit by ten shopping carts in the parking lot.  He is complaining of a shoulder injury according to radio reports.

Trumbull/Stratford News: Crash With Car Fire

2019-08-24 @ 4:04pm–#Stratford CT–#Trumbull CT– #cttraffic– A crash on the Merritt Parkway southbound between exits 53 and 52 with fully engulfed car fire.  It was first reported as car fire with entrapment but everyone was able to get out of the car.  Expect major delays in both directions.

Trumbull News: Man Jumps On Highway

Trumbull Police UPDATE: A 64 year old man jumped off of the Daniels Farm Rd. Bridge, at the Route 25 overpass in Trumbull, late Sunday evening. At approximately 8:20 p.m., Trumbull Police received several 911 calls reporting a man sitting on the fence on the overpass. As officer’s arrived, bystanders were seen speaking with the man as he sat on the fence that spans over the highway. Shortly after police arrived, the man jumped off the overpass onto the roadway of Route 25 southbound.

Officers immediately responded to render medical aid, and found the victim conscious and alert, but suffering serious injuries from the fall. Trumbull EMS responded and transported the man to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment, where he remains in critical condition Sunday night. The man’s identity is being withheld pending family notification, but preliminary information indicates that he is not a Trumbull resident. A vehicle was located on Daniels Farm Road near the bridge that is suspected to belong to the victim. Trumbull Police are currently investigating this incident as a suicide attempt and were assisted by the Connecticut State Police who also responded to the Route 25 highway.

 

2019-08-18 @ 8:24pm–#Trumbull CT– A man on Daniels Farm Road has jumped off the bridge onto Route 25.  The man is on the pavement breathing and conscious.
