Bridgeport firefighters responded to an apartment fire at the Seabreeze Apartments, located at 223 Iranistan Avenue, earlier today. According to unconfirmed radio reports, firefighters forced entry into the unit and quickly extinguished the flames using a portable tank of water. The fire was successfully contained to the kitchen and living room area, preventing further damage to the building. Shelton Police arrested Edward Vickers on January 16, 2025, in connection with a November 2023 incident where an AK-47 with a high-capacity magazine was discovered in plain view at a downtown Shelton residence during a burglary investigation. Following a search warrant, police uncovered 13 illegal firearms, narcotics, numerous high-capacity magazines, and body armor, linking the contraband to Vickers. He was not present at the time of the initial search, but subsequent investigations led to an arrest warrant. The injuries were reportedly caused by an explosive device. The patient disclosed to hospital staff that he and a friend had built and detonated multiple homemade explosive devices earlier that day. A subsequent investigation by our Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, FBI, and Stamford Police Department Bomb Squad revealed that the individuals had constructed four devices using materials purchased online and at retail locations. Shelton Police have arrested two men in connection with the investigation of a suspicious death at the Residence Inn Hotel on 1001 Bridgeport Avenue. On December 26, 2024, police charged Daqwon Graham, 30, of Ansonia, with promoting prostitution, and Jordan Rambert, 35, of New Haven, with soliciting prostitution. The investigation began on October 1, 2024, at approximately 8:00 AM when officers discovered a deceased female in the hotel’s courtyard. Police determined that Rambert had been visiting the woman when she reportedly failed to return to the room. Search warrants executed on the hotel room and a vehicle linked to the victim revealed connections to Graham. Evidence uncovered supported the charges filed against both men.
