Bridgeport Man Arrested with Stolen Handgun During Traffic Stop

https://youtu.be/quCYdTs1dvM On the evening of December 10, Bridgeport Officers Salce and Rrapi were patrolling the Hollow area when they stopped a speeding vehicle on Harral Avenue for lacking a front license plate. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Felix Manuel Delvalle of Bridgeport, was found to be uninsured and acting suspiciously. During a safety pat-down, officers recovered a loaded Ruger handgun with six rounds of ammunition, later confirmed as stolen in 2018. Delvalle was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, failure to display license plates, and operating without insurance. His bond was set at $75,000.

Holiday Fire Leaves Many Homeless in Bridgeport

At 6:56 p.m., firefighters responded to a third-floor apartment fire on the 700 block of Hallett Street. The blaze, which started in the oven, quickly spread to the walls and floors. Firefighters used handlines and opened up walls and floors to extinguish hotspots and contain the fire. One resident was treated on the scene by AMR for burn injuries, though no further injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families by providing emergency shelter and essential supplies.
