Bridgeport News: Mask Distribution

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim announced that a Citywide Mask Distribution event will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2020 from 10am to 2pm, or while supplies last. The plan of face mask distribution includes five locations throughout the community and is a continuance of Mayor Ganim’s efforts to protect residents against the spread of COVID-19 while adhering to current local and state requirements regarding the use of facial coverings in public spaces. Masks are being assembled in packages of 10 per packet.  Each driver will be provided with one packet containing a quantity of ten “3-Ply Surgical Masks.” Bridgeport residents are required to provide proof of residency by State-issued identification and one supporting document; either vehicle registration or utility bill.…

Fairfield Reopening Task Force

The Town of Fairfield last week formed a Business Reopening Task Force lead by First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick to develop recommendations and guidelines for businesses in response to the Governor’s May 20 th order.   The task force is discussing the impact on restaurants, retail, salons and other businesses covered under the Executive Order. Resources to support K-12 students during the pandemic

Congressman Himes said "As we continue to fight this pandemic with strong social distancing policies, one key challenge has emerged for working parents – how to work from home while raising and educating children. With schools closed for at least another month, I wanted to give you an update about federal funding for K-12 schools, as well as provide some resources available for students and families. Bridgeport News: Town Clerk and Vital Statistics Opening

Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport announces regulated hours of operations for services and documentation with the Town Clerk and Vital Statistics. Currently, Vital Records will be open to funeral directors, Monday through Friday from 9am to 12:30pm by appointment only. Request for a death certificate can be made by calling 203-576-8192 or email: patty.ulatowski@bridgeportct.gov.  Upon certificate request, an appointment will be scheduled and entry into the building will only be permitted during this arranged time. The Town Clerk will open for recording land records only. Town Clerk will operate on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule by appointment only.
