CONNECTICUT LEADERS ANNOUNCE STATE WILL RECEIVE $50 MILLION TO MAKE HOMES MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT AND LOWER COSTS THIS YEAR

WASHINGTON–Connecticut leaders on Wednesday announced that the state will receive $50 million for Fiscal Year 2022 to help lower-income families lower their utility bills with energy efficient upgrades. This expanded funding, which is enabled by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will allow Connecticut to retrofit thousands of low-incomes homes to make them healthier and more energy efficient while lowering utility bills. The Weather Assistance Program (WAP) retrofit funding is designed to address the “whole home” including installing insulation, updating heating and cooling systems, upgrading electrical appliances, and taking other common-sense actions that will make homes warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer with less energy usage. “High energy costs make it more difficult for Connecticut families to keep their…

BRIDGEPORT POLICE MAKE HOMICIDE ARREST BRIDGEPORT

#Bridgeport CT-- This morning, detectives arrested Shardel Ragin (DOB: 7/21/1987 of 114 Asylum Street) for the 2017 murder of Max Antoine. Antoine was gunned down as he walked out of Tiago’s, a downtown restaurant, on April 20, 2017. Ragin is reported to have waited for the victim and another man outside of the restaurant and then fired at them from his car. It is believed that the motive for the shooting is revenge for Ragin and his wife being shot in 2016 in Stamford.agin is charged with Murder, Criminal Attempt at Murder, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, and Weapons in a Motor Vehicle. Derby News: Stabbing

Derby Police UPDATE:On 4/4/2022 at approximately 11:45pm, the Derby Police Department responded to a Fifth Street apartment on a report of a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival officers observed the suspect later identified as Daniel Kayvon Estremera DOB 10/20/1996 in front of the residence swinging an unknown object at the female victim’s vehicle. Despite repeated requests to stop and drop the unknown object, Estremera ignored officer’s orders to stop and fled the scene in a motor vehicle. Derby officers attempted to stop the vehicle and a after short pursuit he eluded officers. Officers determined that Estremera had arrived at the victim’s residence uninvited, climbing the front porch to the victim’s balcony. When confronted by the residents, Estremera then punched…

Bridgeport News: Church Roof Collapse

Bridgeport Police said: At 1649hrs the Bridgeport ECC received several 911 calls reporting a roof/building collapse at 1267 Barnum Ave. Bridgeport Fire responded on-scene and reported an abandoned church (TRUE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH), no occupants visible with a roof collapse. Portions of the building collapse impacted a nearby building but thus far no structural issues to that location. Again, no occupants reported within the collapsed structure and all searches deemed negative by on-scene Fire personnel. The Building Department has been notified.
