#Westport CT--On 04/08/2018, at approximately 1:30pm officers, were dispatched to Compo Beach on a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian and leaving the scene. Upon arrival, officers learned a Parks and Recreation employee had been hanging signs on Soundview Drive when they observed the suspect vehicle traveling the wrong way on the one-way road towards her direction. At the same time, several other vehicles were attempting to exit Compo Beach and turn onto Soundview Drive. The employee instructed the vehicles exiting Compo Beach to stop and pull over in order to avoid an accident. Westport News: Burglary Arrest

#Westport News: On 12/18/17 at approximately 4:00am, officers were dispatched to an alarm at Parkway Liquors on Main Street. Arriving officers found the glass front door of the business had been shattered and the cash drawer had been stolen from the register. Detective Marc Heinmiller responded to the scene and took over the investigation. In speaking with other Connecticut agencies experiencing crimes with a similar modus operandi, a male suspect was developed. Investigators learned the male suspect, identified as Casey McAdams, 36,of Derby, CT, committed the Westport burglary with the assistance of Alicia Sheremeta who drove him to the business. Westport News: Unusual Trespassing Call

#Westport CT--At approximately 9:00pm on 03/25/18, officers were dispatched to a gas station on a report of an unwanted party. Upon arrival, officers located Lee Bember, 30, of Bridgeport, parked in the lot. Officers learned Bember had an outstanding warrant out of Trumbull, CT. The victim reported that on the previous day, Bember entered the station and picked her cell phone off of the counter and called his own. Since then, Bember kept coming to the business after repeated verbal statements and texts to stay away and leave. Bember was taken into custody and transported to headquarters where officers located a bullet in his coat pocket. Bember was prohibited from possessing ammunition based on prior felony convictions. #Westpot CT--Approximately one month ago, the Westport Police Department received information from an anonymous source regarding a marijuana grow operation at 9 Tiffany Lane, Westport. The Westport Police Department Detective Bureau launched an investigation and executed a search warrant at the residence on March 28, 2018. During the search, an elaborate marijuana grow operation was located in the basement. Detectives seized lamps and other grow equipment in addition to xx marijuana plants. Residents Ricardo Tavares, 46, and Valonia Tavares, 51, were taken into custody. The couple had minor children residing in the home who were not present at the time of the search. #Westport, CT-- On February 27, 2018 at approximately 9:00am, the Westport Police Department was contacted by Staples High School officials and advised a juvenile male student was overheard making threats to shoot a teacher. The student who overheard this statement reported it to school officials that morning. Officers and detectives responded to Staples High School where the male student was already being interviewed by school administration. Based on the information learned by school administrators, it was confirmed the student did have thoughts of executing a mass shooting at the high school.
