Longshore Golf Course Sets Season-Closing Date for December 7

Westport, CT — Parks and Recreation Director Erik Barbieri announced today that the Longshore Golf Course will officially close for the season on Sunday, December 7. “We are pleased to have been able to extend the 2025 golf season this far into December,” said Barbieri. “On behalf of the Town of Westport, Head Golf Professional Jon Janik, Golf Course Superintendent Sean Charles, and the entire staff at Longshore, we wish all our loyal Longshore golfers a Happy and Healthy New Year. Westport Ulta Theft Case Ends in $50K Bond Arrest

Police say a months-old shoplifting case at Ulta Beauty in Westport has now resulted in an arrest after surveillance video helped identify a suspect. Store management reported the theft on November 3, after discovering the incident during a routine review of security footage from September 6. According to investigators, two individuals entered the store together, with one intentionally creating a distraction while the second suspect, later identified as Peggy Inesti, allegedly removed multiple bottles of fragrance and testers from store shelves and placed them into a tote bag. Westport Police Department Arrests Two in Connection with Armed Robbery

(Westport, CT) – This afternoon the Westport Police Department arrested two individuals in connection with an armed robbery of an armored car driver that occurred in the parking lot of a Post Road East bank. At approximately 12:33pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025, Westport Police received a 9-1-1 emergency call reporting an armed robbery that had occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 422 Post Road East. Westport Police Department Arrests Four in Connection with Stolen Vehicle and Recovered Firearm

WESTPORT — On Tuesday, October 27, 2025, at about 8:52 p.m., Westport officers received license plate reader alerts indicating a reported stolen vehicle in the Saugatuck area. An officer located the vehicle traveling northbound on Saugatuck Avenue and, with a second officer’s assistance, conducted a felony high-risk stop near Riverside Avenue and Post Road West. The four occupants complied with commands and were removed from the vehicle without incident. A search of the passenger compartment uncovered a firearm on the rear floor below the driver’s seat. (Westport, CT) Notification was recently received from Metro North Railroad of their intention to periodically close the pedestrian bridge over the Saugatuck River. These closures are reported to be in connection with an improvement project that is slated to run from Monday, October 27, to Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Beginning on October 27, Metro North Railroad will begin a project intended to make critical safety repairs to the pedestrian bridge connecting the Westport (Saugatuck) Railroad Station to Ferry Lane East.
