Health Literacy Month

#WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), and Tim Scott (R-S.C.), on Thursday introduced a bipartisan resolution designating October as “Health Literacy Month.” “Managing your health care benefit shouldn’t be so complicated to understand. Improving health literacy will go a long way toward reducing barriers to care and bringing down the health costs for the people of Connecticut. Milford News: Crash!

2019-11-03 @9:30am--#Milford CT--A vehicle with 2 elderly occupants swerved, hit another car, rolled and flipped onto its roof and struck a nearby bank on Cherry Street.  The swerve and subsequent accident possibly could have been caused by a medical situation.   Both elderly occupants were seriously injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle that was on it's roof.hey were taken to a local hospital.   They are in stable condition as of 4 PM this afternoon.  The bank that they struck only had minor superficial damage done to it.  The other vehicle involved had 2 people inside. Stratford News: Body Recovered In Water Rescue Of Capsized Boat

This morning at approximately 10:30am, Coast Guard Long Island Sound announced over marine frequency a capsized boat located in the area of Middle Ground, Long Island Sound,  Stratford Shoal Buoy #2 ( 4 subjects originally on board a 17’ center counsel boat). The USCG responded from Eaton’s Neck New York, located 3 male victims, and took them safely onto their vessel.  Those 3 victims were transported to the Bridgeport Water Street Dock where medics began treatment and transported them to Bridgeport Hospital. The Bridgeport Police Marine Unit responded to “Middle Ground” with Ofcs. Del Valle and Peslak.  They were met by the Fairfield Police Marine Unit.  The fourth male victim was located in the water southwest of the Middle Ground light house.  Ofc.…
