Each non- perishable, non-expired food item is worth $1 of fines. Non- perishable food will be collected for the South End Community Center food pantry. Food items must not be damaged, open or expired. Non-perishable items currently needed are: pasta, cold and hot cereals, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit, peanut butter and jelly, canned vegetables, soups (dry and condensed) and rice. Bridgeport News: Police Charge Two In February Homicide

#Bridgeport CT--This afternoon members of the Detective Bureau arrested the two men believed to be responsible for the February 11, 2019, homicide of 19-year-old Dyshon Williams at Luis Munoz Marin Elementary School. The evidence indicates that Williams went to the school at about 10:30 pm to sell two ounces of marijuana to his friend, Darrick Tunstall (DOB: 3/15/00 of 231 Horace St). When Williams arrived, Tunstall and his friend, Vaughn Thomas Jr. (DOB: 3/8/99 of 22 Nelson Terrace) allegedly attempted to rob Williams of the marijuana, fatally shooting him in the process.   Tunstall is charged with Felony Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the First Degree, and Robbery in the First Degree. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.  Thomas is charged with Felony Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery…

Westport News: 2 Dogs Rescued In Fire

The Westport Fire Department responded to an automatic fire alarm at 10:40am at a residence on Sturges Highway. The initial assignment was 2 engines. Upon arrival, firefighters found a moderate smoke condition visible through the windows of the front door. Firefighters upgraded the response to include an additional 2 engines, 1 heavy rescue, and a command vehicle. Firefighters made entry and quickly found plastic burning in a pot on the stove. There was a moderate smoke condition on the first and second floors of the residence.   During their search, firefighters found 2 dogs and removed them from the smoke filled area. For Fairfield, this means $700,000 added to our expenses starting July 1.  Let me be clear, this $700,000 is not in our approved budget and would force us to make cuts to services.  This expense line will grow quickly – $1.4 million next year and $2.1 million the following year. This cost represents our fastest growing expense line item in our budget. #Milford Police Press Release:  On May 13, 2019, at approximately 9:45pm the Milford Police Department received a complaint of an Armed Robbery at the Mayflower Motel, 219 Woodmont Road, in which the clerk had been struck in the face with a firearm. Investigation showed a male offender baited the victim out from the back office by claiming the lobby microwave was broken. When the victim responded the male offender grabbed the victim by the neck and pointed a handgun in the victims face. #Trumbull Police Press Release: An armed robbery occurred at the Trumbull Subway sandwich shop, located on Quality Street, on the night of Tuesday, May 14. A lone gunman entered the Subway and demanded money from the employees. The employees complied with the gunman’s demands before fleeing the shop. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. At approximately 9:23 p.m., the Trumbull Police were called to the Subway sandwich shop where they investigated this robbery. Police learned that the suspect is a light skinned Black male, approximately 5’6” tall, dressed in dark clothing, who displayed a handgun. The suspect then fled the store in a southerly direction.
