Bridgeport News: Basement Fire
2019-08-08 @ 3:35pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters quick response to a basement fire at 26 Lewis Place kept the fire from spreading to the rest of the structure. There were no reported injuries.
12:40pm--Bridgeport CT-- The Bridgeport 911 center received a call where the caller state they were going to go to Bridgeport’s Airport and began shooting people. Bridgeport Police responded quickly, located the caller/suspect and arrested the suspect in Milford. The suspect was Laurie Ott, of Milford Connecticut. She has been charged with Threatening in the 2nd degree and Terrorist Acts. She was arrested on Kirkside Ave in Milford and her bond has not yet be set. 2019-08-07 @ 8:25pm--#Stratford Ct--#Bridgeport CT--#cttraffic-- A report of a crash on I-95 near exit 30 northbound at the town line. Both fire department's responded . First reported as a pedestrian struck, now being it is reported as a person entrapped in the car and they have begun extrication.

Fairfield News: Gould Manor Tested For Contaminants
The Town has been made aware of what appears to be pieces of siding shingles, which possibly could contain asbestos, along the sidewalk of Gould Manor Park on Holland Hill Road. The area in question is limited to the sidewalk area along the road and not the ball fields, playground, or park area. The Town is taking this issue very seriously. In 2013 and 2014, there was work related to a new sidewalk and curb that were installed and as is typical, fill and topsoil were used to level out areas and taper off edges.
