Bridgeport News: Child Hit By Car
2019--08-02 @ 3:27pm--#Bridgeport CT---Bridgeport Police are investigating after a child is hit by a car. It happened on Islandbrook Avenue near Chase Street Officials say the child was struck while crossing the street, but was not seriously injured. They say the driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.

Assistant Chief Firpi told the because of all the drownings in the past, mainly due whirlpools the made a full turnout with boats and divers. The children that were in the water did get out prior to their arrival. Firpi said it was an opportunity to educate the parents, babysitter and children that no swimming means no swimming for a reason.

Yesterday McDonald's at 1700 Park Avenue was hit as well as the Dairy Queen at 949 Huntington Road were struck by vehicles. On Tuesday an SUV slammed through Tony's Smoke Shop with injuring two, one seriously.

Westport News: Robbery
On Monday July 8, 2019 at approximately 4:28pm officers were dispatched to the area of Saugatuck Avenue near Interstate 95 for a report of a robbery that had occurred in the vicinity. The victim reported that he had been robbed of $165.00 by one of two occupants of a vehicle that had since left the scene. The victim relayed to officers that he had planned to meet with an acquaintance in the town of Westport. He reported that he had conversed with this acquaintance through a social media application and had arranged to purchase a cell phone in exchange for an older model cell phone and $165.00 in cash.
