Westport News: Employee Theft

#Westport CT--On 03/12/18, officers were dispatched to Whole Foods on a report of an employee theft. Officers spoke with Loss Prevention and learned Jenisa Serrano had stolen approximately $1,600 from the store. Serrano made approximately 100 fraudulent returns, refunds and voided cash transactions since January of this year. The investigating officer submitted an arrest warrant application for Serrano, which was later granted. On 04/30/2018, Serrano turned herself in at police headquarters on the outstanding warrant. She was charged with 53a-125 Larceny 4 th and released after posting $7,500 bond. Serrano is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on 05/09/2018.   This press release was made possible by:

Westport News: Multiple Charges

#Westport CT--On 05/04/2018 at approximately 9:00am, officers were dispatched to 275 Post Road East on a report of a domestic disturbance in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers learned the female victim had struck the male victim multiple times outside of a parked vehicle. At one point in the argument, the female victim was standing on the sill plate of the vehicle and the male victim took off at a high rate of speed, throwing the female victim from the vehicle. The female victim sustained a minor head injury from impact with the pavement. The male victim was not injured. The female was issued a misdemeanor summons for 53a-181 Breach of Peace and transported to the hospital for treatment. She…

Bridgeport New: Cops And Barbers

#Bridgeport CT-- On Thursday, the Bridgeport Police met with the community at VIP Barbershop at 464 Huntington Turnpike (same plaza as the 50's Diner).   Police said a number of people from the community came out to visit and enjoy free pizza from Vazzy's Restaurant.  When I asked what was on their mind they said there were no real questions, it was primarily an opportunity to start a dialogue.  Police said they will be having this from time to time in different areas of town.   DoingItLocal also plans on having future Facebook Live with the community to field questions they might have.  We also plan on having community talks hosted by VIP Barbershop.  I'll keep you posted!

6:39pm--UPDATE: Police have the suspect in custody with the help of K-9. 6:06pm--#Bridgeport CT-- An attempt to pull over a vehicle turns into a pursuit.  Starting on Prospect Street, onto Route 8 northbound getting off exit 4 down Lindley to East Washington and terminated at Pembroke and Boston Avenue.  He then proceeded to hit a car at Pembroke and Berkshire Avenue.  Police started following him at the blazing speed of 10mph around Arctic Street and then he bailed on foot at Central and Deacon Street.  Heavy police presence in the area as they continue looking for him.     This news report is made possible by:

The first area PechaKucha  will be held on Wednesday, May 9 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Barnum Museum, 820 Main Street in Bridgeport. Bridgeport News: Body Found Washed Ashore

Police UPDATE: The deceased was later positively identified through fingerprint examination as Gregory Garoffolo, 60, of Westport, CT. Investigators learned that Garoffolo’s vehicle had been located on the Interstate 95 Saugatuck River overpass during the early morning hours of May 4 th and was subsequently towed by the Connecticut State Police. According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, he sustained injuries consistent with a fall and drowning. 8:32pm--#Bridgeport CT-- How about some likes for Samuel Jordon Jr. who jumped out of a second story window barefooted to put out a fire on his front porch?  A call originally went out for a fire in the 300 block of Hanover Street, it turned out to be 2 Lombard Court.  Firefighters said it was a porch fire put out by the homeowner so I figured it couldn't be too big and headed back.  A short time later I hear firefighters saying "all hands working" so I headed back to the scene.  When I pulled up to the scene I saw the assistant chief and I asked if there was a fire or not.  He chuckled and said it was…
