Housatonic Community College To Honor Former Student

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (April 3, 2018)  The Housatonic Community College Foundation will honor Yusuff Abdu, a former graduate who made scientific history, at the 9th Annual HCC Foundation Gala from 6:00 to 11pm on April 21st in the stunning new Lafayette Atrium, located at the College. Originally from Nigeria, Abdu came to the U.S. in 2004, graduated from HCC two years later and went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut in 2008. He was accepted into New York University’s DNA Recombinant Technology Biology Master’s Program, where he became a PhD candidate in the Developmental Genetics program at NYU School of Medicine. Fairfield News: Cops Need Your Help

The Fairfield Police Department is seeking the vehicle pictured below, possibly a 2000-2004 Nissan Maxima, in connection with a strong arm robbery/purse snatching that took place in the parking lot of Stop and Shop, 760 Villa Ave on 04/01/18 at approximately 3:15pm. The suspect, a white male, mid 20’s, beard, reddish brown hair, approached 2 women in the lot and yanked the purse off one of them after a brief struggle. Bridgeport News: Attempted Bank Robbery In Black Rock

Fairfield Police UPDATE: The Fairfield Police Department is seeking information following a robbery of the Mobil Gas Station located at 1271 Stratfield Rd. At approximately 08:52pm on 04/01/18, the suspect (pictured below), a taller, stocky, white male wearing a full grey ski mask, grey pants, brown boots, a black hoodie carrying a knife in his right hand entered the store through the front door. The male then ordered the clerk behind the cash register to open the cash drawer. The suspect fled the store after obtaining an undetermined amount of cash from the register.
