Westport Police Department Swears in Three New Officers

#Westport CT--On Monday, March 7, 2016 the Westport Police Department welcomed three new officers to its ranks. These officers fill the vacancies created by the retirements of three long-time officers at the end of 2015. The ceremony took place in the Westport Police Department classroom, where First Selectman Jim Marpe administered the oath of office to each of them. The following individuals were sworn in: Michael Morrin joins the department after a career with the Orange, CT Police Department. He attained the rank of Detective before retiring after 21 years of service. Bridgeport News: Downtown Crash

UPDATE: From the Bridgeport Police Department-Nissan Altima travelling west on Fairfield Ave with 3 occupants  struck the right side of a 2002 Honda Civic with 3 occupants travelling north on Lafayette at the intersection.  The traffic signal was flashing yellow for Fairfield Ave and red for Lafayette sq.  EMS and Fire Dept responded and extricated the occupants of the Honda.  The driver of the Honda Michele Saez, 23 of Bridgeport later went to seek medical attention on her own.  There were no other reported injuries. 2:02am--#Bridgeport CT--First responders were called to Lafayette and Fairfield Avenue for a two car crash that required firefighters to pop the door open to get a passenger out of the car that was on top…
