State Officials Headed to Taiwan

On Sunday, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, State Senator Tony Hwang, State Senator Tim Larson, and State Representative William Tong will travel to Taiwan on a weeklong business and trade mission funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of China (Taiwan).   They will discuss economic development partnerships, healthcare, education, and transportation with officials from the Republic of China (Taiwan), including meetings at the Legislative Yuan, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Council of Agriculture, the Environmental Protection Administration, the Mainland Affairs Council, the Department of Gender Equality at the Executive Yuan, and the European Economic and Trade Office.   This report was made possible by:

Westport – Fairfield Pink Police Cars

Bridgeport Police Department Announces Investigation into Racially-Charged Letters

#Bridgeport, Conn. (October 2, 2015) – Today, the Bridgeport Police Department announced the Office of Internal Affairs launched an investigation earlier this week into recently received racially-charged letters.   On September 27, 2015 at approximately 4:00 a.m. a police officer reported that he found the letter on the windshield of his personal vehicle parked in the lower parking lot on Congress St. Officers canvassed the parking lot and found approximately eight vehicles including police vehicles with letters on them.   The letter accuses the targeting of certain current and former Bridgeport Police Officers due to their race.   “Upon receiving this letter, I immediately directed the Office of Internal Affairs to begin an investigation,” said Police Chief Joe Gaudett. “The city and…

Bridgeport News: Another Teen Shot

4:31pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A fifteen year old male was shot in the back and neck at Trumbull Gardens this afternoon. He was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital where he is in stable condition. Two males, both with guns were seen fleeing in a dark colored car. Witness said about 6-8 shots were fired, police have a crime scene at 410 Trumbull Gardens. The witnesses in the 470 block said the teen then fell on parked cars asking them to call 911, he then left in a private vehicle. Ansonia News: Structure Fire

Bridgeport News: Police Investigates The City’s 13th Homicide

Video Report---8:30ish--Around 8:30pm Bridgeport Police Department​ received numerous for shots fired in the 800 block of Madison Avenue. When police arrived they found an unresponsive 17 year old black male Madison Avenue and Frank Street. The victim was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital but multiple sources say he did not make it. This has been confirmed by Bridgeport Police spokesman Kevin Coughlin. Neighbors tell me that the gunshots were in rapid succession and they could not count the number of shots fired.
