(Bridgeport, CT – May 7, 2014) – Detectives are investigating a shooting that wounded a 28-year-old man early today. Police responded to the area of Club Delight, 1611 Barnum Ave., on a report of shots fired. Police encountered a large crowd and multiple cars fleeing the scene after a dispute inside spilled into the lot outside. Subsequently, police located a two vehicles involved in a motor vehicle accident on Summerfield Avenue. Detectives are working to determine whether that incident is related to the gunshots. Police located evidence outside the nightclub indicating that two different weapons were fired. (Bridgeport, CT – May 8, 2014) – A cold case investigation led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man in connection with the 2011 fatal shooting of his longtime girlfriend. Abimael Ramos, who currently is jailed on unrelated drug charges, was charged today with murder in connection with the fatal shooting on May 23, 2011, of Luz Morales at the Wood Avenue apartment that they shared. Ramos claimed that Morales was fatally shot during a home invasion. “Homicide cases are never closed, filed away and forgotten. We owe that to our victims,” said Capt. Robert (“Bob”) Satter, WWII Veteran William Vornkahl, President of the Westport Veterans Council announced that Robert Satter, a Veteran of World War II, has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 26th. Bob volunteered for active duty in World War II in November of 1942. 3:28pm--#Fairfield CT--Police are investigating a collision between a bicycle and car on Marlborough Terrace and Greenfield Street. Apparently the bicycle was traveling south downhill on Greenfield Street when it turned into the car's lane and collided. The woman operating the bicycle was transported to the hospital, injuries are unknown at this time.
