Bridgeport Police Nab 3 In Robbery Spree

Last night Bridgeport Police made three arrests in the Garfield Avenue area.    These three (3) individuals are the reason of the increase of armed robberies in the area of Madison Ave. and Wayne St. area.  Members of the departments  Violent Crime Initiative Unit that consist of uniformed officers under the supervisor of Sergeants Ronald Mercado and Bradford Seely obtained  information as it was broadcast and converged on the area with their officers and where able to capture the suspects at various locations within the immediate area of the robbery. DEA Jails and Forgets Man For 5 Days- No Food or Water

Daniel Chong, the UC San Diego student who was left in a Drug Enforcement Administration holding cell for nearly five days, said the time spent there was a life-altering experience. On Wednesday, the DEA apologized for the incident.  The 23-year-old spoke with NBCSanDiego and said he was increasingly worried throughout the days he spent in a 5-foot by 10-foot cell. “They never came back, ignored all my cries and I still don’t know what happened,” he said. “I’m not sure how they could forget me. Police Officer Injured in Bridgeport Fire

Around 10:45pm an officer on routine patrol noticed smoke coming from a boarding house on State Street at the corner of  Norman Street.  Police went inside to alert those in the house to evacuate, one officer was overcome with smoke inhalation.   At first it was undermined how many police officers were in the building so an emergency roll call was called; All were quickly present and accounted for.    Firefighters quickly came to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire located on the first floor in the back of the building.   There were no other injuries reported, it was uncertain if the occupants would be able to return to their rooms.  At midnight police radio traffic indicated it was now…

Toddler Shot In Bridgeport In Crossfire

At around 5:20pm Monday Bridgeport Police received a call of shots fired at Poplar Street and Beechwood Avenue.  Reports say two were shot including a 3 year old girl who was crossing the street with her mother.  It is reported that she was shot in the buttocks and has non-life threatening injuries.   Witnesses told us that a gray four door sedan pulled up and opened fire and they said it was 9mm semi automatic fire from one shooter.  We are told as many as 25 shots were fired.  The shooting happened righ near  Bryant School and you can see school children looking on in the video.  Please keep in mind this is breaking news and the information will more…

[SlideDeck id='494' width='100%' height='400px'] ‎ 3:40am--#Bridgeport--Home invasion at 68 Highland Avenue Building 3 on the 7th floor (Greene Homes). 2 black males forced their way into the apartment wearing all black and ski masks.  A gun was displayed and they took a TV and laptop after stabbing the victim in the leg. Police are on scene EMTs on the way. UPDATE-- This occurred around 3:15am and a 32" TV was taken as well as a laptop. 12:45am--#Fairfield #Westport--We have a report of a pursuit on I-95 southbound from Westport exit 18. Just before 6pm Sunday evening police received a call from Adams Bakery at 1525 Black Rock Turnpike of an armed robbery.  A gun was displayed.  The gunman was a white male, about 6 feet tall, thin build, blond, in his mid twenties and he wearing a black jacket.  He took an undermentioned amount of cash and fled west on Judd Street in a gray 4 door Infinity.  The gunman is still at large.
