Fire officials are investigating that the fireat 199 Yacht Street in Bridgeport intentionally set. Around 8pm a call came in for heavy smoke on the fifth floor of this six story apartment complex. Firefighters discovered that rubber was set on fire in the hallway which they quickly extinguished. They called in the fire marshal for an investigation. 199 Yacht Street is across the street from Captain's Cove Seaport.

The chemist from collection contractor Clean Harbors determined that the material may have become unstable and reactive, resulting in calls to Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the State Police Emergency Services Unit. According to EMTs the victim was shot several times while sitting in his car. This was Bridgeport's second shooting of the night, a person was shot at the Mobil Station at 3196 Main Street around 8pm. The victim at that shooting was driven to St. Vincent's Hospital by private car around 8pm. Condition of both victims are unknown at this reporting.
