Terron Jones of the Bridgeport Emergency Communications said in a statement" Today Around 1842hrs a wrong way driver entered the ramp on the south bound side of route 8. This resulted in more than 4 vehicles involved in the crash. At least 4 people were transported to the hospital with regard to the initial reports. #Trumbull police arrested the primary suspect involved in the shooting incident that took place at the Trumbull mall on May, 29, 2023. This sixteen (16) year old male resident of Bridgeport turned himself in to Trumbull Police Headquarters on Wednesday, July 6 for the outstanding warrant of his arrest. He was criminally processed and charged with Reckless Endangerment First Degree, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Threatening First Degree, and Breach of Peace. He was then turned over to the custody of the Juvenile Residential Center Superintendent at Bridgeport to be held, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Juvenile Court on July 12, 2023. Thomas Murphy Park, located behind Fairfield Fire Headquarters on 140 Reef Road and parallel to Nichols Street. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 3:30 pm. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Board of Selectmen, Board of Finance, and RTM, the park has undergone a remarkable transformation. In February of 2023, a total of $150,000 in funding was approved from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
