#Stratford CT-- On 08-22-2021 Jeshawn Rogers age 25 of Bridgeport committed a shooting on Masarik Avenue inStratford. During the incident Rogers fired a firearm multiple times at two individuals. The rounds firedstruck a residential home on Orange Street which was occupied at the time. After a thoroughinvestigation Detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for Rogers as well as a search warrant forhis apartment at 340 Palisade Ave. in Bridgeport. On 09-07-2021 The Stratford Police Detective Bureaualong with the Bridgeport Tactical Narcotics Team executed the Search Warrant at Roger’s apartment.Detectives seized a Glock 19 9mm with a high capacity magazine, ammunition, and a large amount ofmarijuana packaged for street sales.Rogers is considered to be armed and dangerous and has…

New Pedestrian Laws

Currently, a driver must yield to a pedestrian, slowing or stopping as necessary, if the pedestrian has stepped off the curb or into the crosswalk. Under the new law, a driver must slow or stop as necessary if the pedestrian (1) is within any portion of the crosswalk; (2) steps to the curb at a crosswalk’s entrance and indicates intent to cross by raising a hand or arm to oncoming traffic; or (3) indicates intent to cross by moving any body part or extension of a body part into the crosswalk entrance, including a wheelchair, cane, walking stick, crutch, bicycle, electric bicycle, stroller, carriage, cart, or leashed or harnessed dog. “This new pedestrian safety law is an important step to…
