Pedestrian Struck at Kent and Boston Avenue

Police UPDATE: At approximately 9:15 pm last night, Bridgeport PD responded to the intersection of Boston and Kent Avenue to report of an MVA vs. pedestrian. Upon arrival, the pedestrian was in a prone position in the intersection, conscious, and being assisted by AMR and the Bridgeport Fire Department. The pedestrian was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of the following injuries: a large laceration to the right thigh, injury to the left toe, and multiple abrasions on the left arm. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative. A pedestrian was hit by a car Monday night at the intersection of Kent and Boston Avenue in Bridgeport. Cooling Centers Open Across Stratford, Bridgeport, and Westport as Extreme Heat Continues Through June 25

Due to a forecasted heat wave with heat index values expected between 100 and 105 degrees, the towns of Stratford, Bridgeport, and Westport have activated their Cooling Center Protocols, effective immediately through 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Residents, especially seniors, children, those with pre-existing health conditions, and anyone vulnerable to heat-related illnesses are urged to stay cool, hydrated, and indoors. All three municipalities are offering designated cooling centers with varying hours to provide relief from the dangerous temperatures. Governor Ned Lamont also issued statewide guidance, reminding residents that cooling centers can be located by dialing 2-1-1 and emphasizing precautions such as hydration, limited outdoor exposure, and checking on vulnerable individuals. (Westport, CT) On June 21, 2025, at approximately 0240 hours, Westport Police responded to a residence on Riverside Avenue for a report from an out-of-town homeowner that there was an unknown male in his home. Through his Blink security system, the homeowner observed and provided real-time updates to police about the unauthorized male in his home. Officers immediately responded, surrounded the area, and located an unlocked, sliding glass door. The suspect unintentionally made himself visible on the third-floor balcony to officers and quickly retreated into the house. UPDATE:Fairfield Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Post Road: Fleeing Driver LocatedFairfield, CT — On 6/21/2025 at about 9:30 p.m., Fairfield Police responded to several 911 calls reporting a crash involving a moped and a vehicle on Post Road near South Benson Road. The striking vehicle fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival; however, during the investigation, officers were able to locate both the vehicle and the driver. Despite lifesaving measures being taken on scene, the 25-year-old moped driver later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
