#Trumbull CT-- #Bridgeport CT-- Shortly after 7pm Trumbull Police were notified of a robbery and gunshot at the Zales Store in the Westfield Mall on Main Street. A lone male entered the store brandishing a handgun which he used to shatter glass display case. While doing this, the gun apparently discharged one bullet. The man grabbed several gold chains and fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident. Officers spotted the fleeing car at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Anton Street in Bridgeport where he crashed. The driver was believed to still have the firearm used in the robbery with him. Hoydick has issued a proclamationdeclaring Saturday, November 28th – the Saturday after Thanksgiving – “Shop Small Stratford Day" inconjunction with the national program, Small Business Saturday. Grant To Help End Human Trafficking

Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04) announced that the Partnership to End Human Trafficking (PEHT) will receive a $344,005 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office For Victims of Crimes. The grant will allow PEHT to partner with community organizations to improve the identification of trafficked individuals and to expand comprehensive services to human-trafficking victims.   “Far too often, workers are lured to the U.S. by the promise of well-paying jobs and a better future, only to be coerced into unbearable conditions, including domestic servitude or prostitution rings,” said Congressman Jim Himes. “It’s horrific that this happens anywhere in the country, let alone in our own backyard.
