Ansonia News: Armed Robbery

On October 14, 2020 at 10:35 P.M., the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of an armed robbery at the Wakelee Mart, 192 Wakelee Avenue. Two males, both armed with handguns entered the store and demanded the employee turn over all the money in the register. Several hundred dollars were taken during the robbery. During the course of the robbery, one of the suspects struck the employee in the head. The employee suffered a minor injury and declined medical attention. The suspects are described as black males both over six feet tall, one heavy set and the other had a slender build. Police UPDATE: On October 14, 2020 at approximately 4:55 pm Bridgeport Patrol Officers, Bridgeport Firefighters and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to the scene of a fatal crash at the intersection of Park Avenue and Thorme Street. 2020-10-13@4:00pm--#Stratford CT-- An armed robbery occurred at the Chase Bank located at 2855 Main Street inStratford. Two (2) unidentified white males entered the bank at approximately 4pm. Grant For Metro-North Study

Representatives Jim Himes (CT-04) and Jahana Hayes (CT-05) announced the Western Connecticut Council of Governments received a $400,000 federal grant from the Department of Transportation.
