5:21pm–#Fairfield CT– Police were called to BJ’s Wholesale Club parking lot at 40 Black Rock Turnpike for a baby left inside a hot car. Responding officers broke the driver’s door window to rescue the child. Fairfield Police Sergeant Gregg Gunther told me the baby wasn’t inside for long and it appeared to be an “accident”. The baby was transported to the hospital by EMS for evaluation. Gunther said that the Connecticut Department of Children and Families will be notified of the incident. Unofficially it was 82 degrees in the parking lot.
