A new social phenomenon is about to invade Bridgeport

  #Bridgeport CT-- The name of this event sounds exotic and hip because it is.  It’s PechaKucha and it technically translates to “Chit-Chat”, but that’s somewhat misleading.   It’s a group of people each presenting for six minutes and forty seconds with 20 compelling photos or visuals shown 20 seconds each to make it succinct, inspiring, fun and/or funky.  It is a tasty storytelling feast! Stratford News: Fraud Arrest

#Stratford CT-- On 2/16/2018 the Stratford Police served a warrant and arrested Waterbury resident Blanca Quinones (age 46) at Liberty Tax Service located At 353 East Main St, Waterbury Ct. Quinones is accused of stealing a customer’s personal information from Liberty Tax Service and using it to open two utility and five credits card accounts for personal use. Quinone has been charged with seven counts of Identity Theft and Larceny 6th Degree and she appeared in court on 02-28- 2018. Quinones informed police that she has worked at Liberty Tax Service for nine years preparing customer tax returns. Message From Fairfield First Selectman

We have just completed an update conference call with UI. Here is the update. UI is reporting 1682 homes still without power. UI has 17 Restoration crews at work in our town and one Make Safe crew to help with road clearing. Progress is going slower than expected. Additional crews from Kansas are on the way to help but will not be available until Saturday evening. UI has committed to having a plan for full restoration to us by Saturday morning. We have asked for more Make Safe crews to clear roads of downed wires and more Restoration help. We have told them we need to be ready for school on Monday. Norwalk News: Murder Arrest

#Norwalk CT--On February 3, 2010 at 8:50am, the Norwalk Police Department Patrol Division responded to Nathaniel Ely School for a report of a man down. Officers found a deceased male victim who had been shot three times. The victim was identified as Norwalk resident Karl Savage. On March 8, 2018, Norwalk Detectives arrested David McBride and charged him with murder for the slaying of Karl Savage. Detective Daniel Serio, who is assigned to the Special Investigation Squad of the Detective Bureau, investigated this case. Detective Serio is commended for his diligent work in continuing the investigation and obtaining probable cause for McBride’s arrest. Bridgeport News: Every Kollapse Begins With K

UPDATE: Police and fire spokesperson Av Harris confirmed our report of a roof collapsed due to heavy wet snow - pulled in a side wall on Middle Street. The building has been vacant for 20 years.  As a precaution they have closed off Middle street from Fairfield to Golden Hill. Also, closed is Fairfield Avenue to Golden Hill from Water to Middle Street.   There is no imminent danger of collapse.  The post office will be operating normal hours on Friday but they will be using the south entrance on Middle Street.   7:29pm--#Bridgeport CT-- The old Kay's building across the street from the post office at 120 Middle Street is about to collapse due to the weight of the wet snow.  Firefighters…

Bridgeport News: Getting Trashed

6:33am---#Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to a medical emergency at 48 Highland Ave.  Upon arrival at the building, Rescue 5 was met by an occupant stating that the patient was in the garbage chute stuck between the 3rd and the 4th floors.  Rescue 5 immediately requested a Confined Space Rescue assignment bringing a full alarm assignment with Tech Rescue Trailer #1.  As members set up operations to pinpoint the location of the victim in the blind shaft, members found that the location of the victim was at the bottom of the chute on top of the compactor.  Simultaneous Rescue Operations were established to dismantle the garbage compactor in the basement and to breach a wall on the first floor.  The extrication process…
