2019-04-13 @ 11:24pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to a house fire in the 200 block of Anton Street. The assistant fire chief told me that the bathroom ceiling fan caught fire. The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it extended into the attic. Two fire hoses were used in the operation. One occupant suffered minor smoke inhalation, he was checked out by EMS and refused treatment at the hospital. The fire marshal was called to investigate. #Fairfield CT-- On Friday April 12, 2019 at approximately 0952hrs, the Fairfield Police Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck on Sanford Street near the Post Rd in the Town of Fairfield. Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined that a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Schaunta Chambers of Ash Street in Bridgeport, was traveling westbound on Post Rd and turned north on Sanford Street, subsequently striking a pedestrian walking eastbound in the crosswalk across Sanford Street. The pedestrian was identified as Todd Burr, 62, of Fairfield and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The citizen called the police to report that a man was cutting locks of a bicycle. Stratford Police UPDATE: Carlos Lanauze age 34 of Bridgeport was arrested and charged with Burglary 3 rd and Criminal Trespass 3 rd for breaking into a home on Columbus Avenue in Stratford. The incident occurred on 04-12-2019 at approximately 1245pm. Officers were alerted to the burglary by an observant neighbor who saw that the front door of the home was open while the homeowner was away. Lanauze was taken into custody by responding officers when he exited the back door of the home.
