Today’s Vehicle Fire

2019-05-29 @ 5:48am--#Westport CT--The Westport Fire Department responded to a report of a truck fire on Newtown Turnpike. The fire department responded with 2 fire engines and the shift commander. Arriving companies found a pick-up truck in the roadway on fire. A fire hose line was stretched and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Governor Signs Minimum Wage Hike

HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont this morning signed legislation he championed alongside a number of state legislators that will increase the minimum hourly wage in Connecticut to $15.00 through a series of gradual increases over the next several years, with the first one taking place this October. Fairfield News: Dunkin’ Donuts Robbed

On 5/28/2019 at 0202hrs, a robbery was reported at Dunkin Donuts, 593 Post Road. When officers arrived at the scene, the cashier stated a black male, thin build, in his 40’s, wearing a red jacket and hat came into the store and threatened to shoot her.  The male implied that he had a gun, however, no firearm was displayed. The male took an undetermined amount of cash from the register and fled the store. A K9 track of the suspect was unsuccessful.  No one was injured during this incident. State Police Enforcement Score Card

Middletown, CT. (May 28, 2019): Connecticut State Troopers were patrolling highways and roads in Connecticut over this 2019 Memorial Day weekend. During this enforcement period Troopers utilized both traditional and non-traditional patrol cars. The enforcement period started at 12:01 a.m. 5/24/19 and ran through 11:59 p.m. on 5/27/19. Troopers focused on drunken driving violations, aggressive drivers, distracted drivers and speeding. Sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols were also in place over the entire weekend.
