Bridgeport News: Fire At Wood Mart Variety

2019-05-26 @ 9:45pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to the Wood Mart Variety at 862 Wood Avenue, next to Woods End Deli for a fire. Firefighters found fire along with arcing electrical lines and fireworks going off inside the store. Firefighters had the bulk of the fire knocked out within twenty minutes. Radio reports said the entire plaza had smoke damage. There were no reported injuries and the fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire. #Trumbull CT---The Trumbull Police Department was chosen to be one of only five police agencies throughout Connecticut to receive an award for “Efforts to Promote Officer Wellness Programs and Initiatives for Your Officers.” Several Trumbull Police Officers attended a training program that was sponsored by the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association in New Haven, CT and were recognized for their efforts. This “Serve Well, Be Well” training covered aspects of caring for officers from hire to retire and beyond.   The training discussed how important it is to learn from previous traumatic experiences.
