Driver Arrested After Crash That Injured Child Cyclist in Norwalk

Norwalk Police Officers have arrested Giovani Holguin, the driver involved in a motor vehicle accident on April 19, 2025, which resulted in serious physical injuries to a juvenile. At 7:17 PM on April 19, 2025, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle accident in the area of 44 Wilson Avenue in which a vehicle struck a juvenile. Officers from the Norwalk Police Department, along with the Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Services, were quickly dispatched to the scene. The juvenile, who had sustained serious injuries, was transported to Norwalk Hospital for medical treatment. Trumbull firefighters were called to Trumbull High School at 72 Strobel Avenue for glycol that escaped from the roof heating/cooling system to the floors below. Those attending evening activities were evacuated. The Department of Energy & Environmental Protection was notified. Glycol is used in air conditioning and HVAC systems as an antifreeze and heat transfer fluid, particularly in closed-loop systems where exposure to freezing temperatures is a concern. Shelton Police Identify Operator Involved in Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident

On 05/11/2025 at approximately 11:10 PM, Shelton Police, Shelton Fire Department, and Shelton EMS were dispatched to the area of River Rd. (Route 110) and Montgomery St. on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Responding firefighters and police encountered two vehicles involved in a collision. Emergency personnel transported two occupants of one vehicle to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The sole occupant of the second vehicle was also transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. The Shelton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is actively investigating the incident. The deceased has been identified as Mandie Lassy, age 37, of Terryville.
