2020-06-22@ 5:27pm -- A police press release at 10:51pm said police dispatch received reports of shots fired in the area of 533 Harral Avenue. Officers responding to the scene located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A thirteen-year-old female was shot once in the back and a twenty-three-year-old male was shot in the leg. Both injuries are considered non-life-threatening. Both victims were transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center for treatment. An earlier press release said a gunshot victim arrived at St. Vincent's Hospital at 12:59pm but the location of the shooting is not known. 2020-06-22@6:15pm--Police are investigating a homicide during a shoot out in the 2000 block of Fairfield Avenue. The driver was shot in the head while driving on Fairfield Avenue and crashed. He died according to sources. 2 males and 2 females were in a car taken in a carjacking last night in Bridgeport last night. There was no press release on this at all. The Citizen Network has been started as a result of Mayor Ganim turning off the press's Bridgeport Police radio. So if you see something, post something. Fire Department UPDATE: At 8:54PM PM the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a call from a resident at 36 Chestnut Street reporting a fire in the rear of her house. Car 3 Engines 1, 2, 3, and 4, Ladder 2 and Rescue 1 were dispatched. While responding Car 3 could see a large column of smoke in the area and called for Engine 5 to be added to the assignment. Fairfield Car 2 also responded to the command post. Car 3, under the command of Assistant Chief Erik Kalapir, arrived on scene at 9:02PM and reported heavy fire in the rear of 36 Chestnut street and established command. I couldn't answer your because the press radios were turned off per the mayor. Later today the police said that a man called to report his girlfriend was hit and that he was driving her to the hospital.
