Staples High School Dismisses Early Due To Threat. Fairfield Ups Police Presence

UPDATE:  Westport, CT--This morning at approximately 9:00am, the Westport Police Department was contacted by Staples High School officials and advised a juvenile male student was overheard making threats to shoot a teacher. The student who overheard this statement reported it to school officials this morning. Officers and detectives responded to Staples High School where the male student was already being interviewed by school administration. Based on the information learned by school administrators, it was confirmed the student did have thoughts of executing a mass shooting at the high school. Fairfield Animal Control to Conduct Strict Enforcement

#Fairfield CT--The mission of the Animal Control Office is to enforce all state and local laws concerning roaming dogs, barking dogs, animal bites, nuisance complaints, and rabies related wildlife complaints. Due to an increase in calls for service, observed violations, and dog attacks on both people and other dogs, the Fairfield Police Department Animal Control Office will be conducting random enforcement at ALL of the Town Parks where animals are permitted with a “zero tolerance” approach. State Police Update On Wrong Way Parkway Crash

11pm 2/13--#Fairfield CT--#cttraffic-- State Police say Ashley Cooper, 59 of Bridgeport  was driving her 2005 Nissan Altima southbound in the northbound lane near the Morehouse Highway overpass in Fairfield last night and struck a 2016 Acadia SUV driven by Jeffrey Butler, 51, of Shelton and a RAV 4, identified as William McGeorge, 54, of Park Avenue.  Cooper and Butler were injured and transported to the hospital by AMR.  Butler's passenger and McGeorge were not injured according to the state police accident report.  The highway was shut down for over an hour.  Cooper was charged second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.
