On Friday, December 20, 2024, the Norwalk Police Special Services Division executed a search and seizure warrant at the R & R Smoke & Convenience Store, located at 213 Main Avenue. The execution of this warrant is part of the ongoing investigation into smoke shops that sell cannabis without a cannabis license. In Connecticut, it is illegal to sell products with a total THC concentration greater than 0.3% without a cannabis license. Officers received information that this location was selling pure marijuana and products that were well above the legal THC level. The search warrant yielded several hundred products that were above the 0.3% THC threshold. In addition, pure marijuana, THC gummies, and Galaxy Gas nitrous oxide were also seized.…

Norwalk, CT – A nearly six-hour standoff ended peacefully after police arrested a man accused of making threats and brandishing a weapon at a residence on Adams Avenue. On December 23, 2024, at approximately 7:04 PM, Norwalk Police received a report of a disturbance at 32 Adams Avenue. According to authorities, 29-year-old Nabeel Osama Abdallah, who appeared intoxicated, made alarming statements about "completing a mission," including threats to burn down the house and harm a resident. A witness also reported seeing a firearm in Abdallah's room, and he allegedly stated that he was "not going down without a fight." Man Arrested in NY for Violent Home Invasion and Protective Order Violations in Norwalk

On December 16th, 2024, Christian Chavez-Sosa was arrested in Gloversville, NY, by the US Marshals. Norwalk Detectives transported him back to Norwalk Police Headquarters, where he was charged with Home Invasion, Strangulation in the Second Degree, three Violations of a Protective Order, and Burglary in the First Degree. The home invasion incident occurred when Chavez-Sosa already had an existing protective order in place. On October 30th, he broke into the victim’s home, first destroying items and later re-entering the home only to terrorize the victim again. Norwalk Man with 4 Outstanding Narcotics Warrants Arrested After Foot Chase

On December 4, 2024, Special Services Division Officers arrested Derik McCoy, 35, of Norwalk, after observing him driving his 2006 Black BMW. McCoy, who had four outstanding narcotics warrants, fled on foot during a traffic stop but was apprehended a short distance away. During his arrest, officers discovered approximately 24.53 grams of crack cocaine, two scales, and $711 in cash. The four outstanding warrants, each with a $60,000 bond, stemmed from a long-term narcotics investigation. McCoy now faces additional charges, including possession and sale of narcotics, and his bond totals $390,000.

Robbery Arrest in Norwalk

On December 4, 2024, patrol officers responded to a report of an overnight robbery involving a $3,000 theft. The victim, who was acquainted with the suspect, 19-year-old Boston Leger, reported being assaulted at his home during a scuffle in which Leger allegedly stole the cash. Following an investigation by the Detective Bureau, Leger was located and arrested at his residence in Norwalk. He faces charges of Robbery 1st Degree and Assault 3rd Degree. Leger is being held on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on December 15, 2024.

A senior citizen in the Norwalk area was recently scammed out of thousands of dollars after being contacted by someone posing as a Microsoft representative about a software renewal issue. The scammer convinced the victim to withdraw over $10,000 from their bank account and deliver the cash in a package, which was later picked up directly from their home. Another victim in the Milford area fell victim to a similar scam earlier last week.
