Stratford News: Weapon Arrest

#Stratford CT---On 06/19/2019 the Stratford Narcotics Vice and Intel Unit, in coordination with the Bridgeport Police Task Force executed a search warrant for narcotics sales at 1450 South Ave Stratford CT. This Search Warrant was the culmination of an investigation that focused on Narcotics Sales as well as Firearms related crimes within the Town of Stratford. The subject of the investigation, Courtney Dyce D.O.B 09/29/2000 was taken into custody as he was leaving the residence. During a search of the residence, Detectives located several ounces of marijuana and packaging. Additionally, Detectives located a stolen Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun which was loaded with several rounds of ammunition. Dyce is currently on probation for a previous firearms arrest from 07/04/2018…

Stratford looks to acquire lighthouse

STRATFORD- Mayor Laura R. Hoydick announced Friday that the Town of Stratford has entered into a license agreement with the United States Coast Guard for the property at the Stratford Point Lighthouse. Under terms of the agreement, the Town of Stratford has use of the lighthouse property and associated buildings and structures, while the Coast Guard continues to operate and maintain the light.  The Town agrees to maintain and upkeep the property and buildings.  Payment from the Town for the agreement is a single dollar. #Stratford CT--The Stratford Police Department investigated a distraction burglary on Broadbridge Avenue today. The incident occurred at approximately 1030 am when an unidentified male posing as a water company employee used fake identification to gain access to the home stating he needed to check the water in the residence. The homeowner escorted the suspect into the basement at which time two unidentified suspects entered the home and committed the burglary. Stratford News: Child Porn Arrest

#Stratford CT-- The Stratford Police Department Detective Bureau received a child pornography complaint from the National Center for Missing Exploited Children during the month of February, 2019. Detectives conducted an investigation which led to the identification of John Kenneth Stone (DOB 10/03/1942). Stone is employed as a School Bus Driver with the Durham Bus Services. Detectives executed a search warrant at Stone’s residence in Stratford. During the search warrant the Stratford Police Computer Forensics Unit seized a laptop computer. A forensic analysis of the computer located a large number of images and videos identified as Child Pornography. On 05/23/2019 Stone was taken into custody.
