During the month of May 2024, The Stratford Narcotics and Vice Unit initiated a criminal investigation of illegal activity at the S & T Smoke Shop located at 562 Honeyspot Road.This Narcotics and Vice Unit’s investigation was in conjunction with several other different agencies.The Bridgeport DEA Task Force, the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the State of Connecticut Department of Revenue Services.These agencies participation was instrumental in identifying the criminal activity taking place at the S & T Smoke Shop.This investigation resulted in the arrests of the following individuals. Motorcycle Crash Leads to Arrest: Stolen Bike, Unregistered Gun Found with Distracted Rider

Officers identified Marcise Glover, age 44, of Ansonia as the operator of the motorcycle. Glover told officers he was riding on Division Street when he received a phone call and when he looked at his phone he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed. The motorcycle was reported stolen from Shelton and a 9mm handgun with no serial number was located in the backpack Glover was carrying. There have been incorrect postings on social media and the internet regarding an investigation into the possession of a weapon in Ansonia. The incident did not occur at the Ansonia Middle School or any other school in Ansonia, it happened the previous night, Wednesday September 4, 2024, but was not reported until yesterday, September 5, 2024, at about 1:20 P.M.. On August 31, 2024 at 7:12 P.M., the Ansonia Police Department investigated a robbery at the AC Washing Well, 133 North Main Street. An employee reported that four Hispanic males enter the business and a short time later one of the males approached, displayed a handgun and demanded money. Shelton News: Two Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

On 09-03-24 just after midnight, Shelton Police were notified about a recent stolen vehicle out of Stratford. Several Shelton officers were working a construction job downtown at the time and noticed the vehicle in a parking lot on Center St. As officers approached the vehicle, three people fled on foot. Officers searched the area and were able to locate two of the three suspects. 18-year-old Devin Overton of Ansonia was arrested and charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Interfering. Overton was released after posting a $5,000 bond and is scheduledto appear at Derby Superior Court on 10-24-24. A 17-year-old male from Shelton was arrested for the same charges and released.

Stratford Spa Raided: Two Arrested, Cease-and-Desist Order Issued

The Stratford Police Department’s Narcotics, Vice, and Intelligence Unit recently conducted an investigation into activities at The Garden Spa, located at 1804 Barnum Avenue in Stratford. Following the investigation, a search warrant was executed at the spa on August 29, 2024. Yushan Li, 62, and Shun Yu Quan, 61, were taken into custody and charged with prostitution. Both women were released on a $10,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on September 12, 2024. During the operation, $10,223 in cash, cell phones, and various financial documents were seized as evidence. Additionally, the Stratford Health Department has issued a Cease-and-Desist Order, which has been posted at the entrance of the establishment.

Wrong-Way Driver Causes Collision on RT 8 Northbound in Shelton, Leads to DUI Arrest

A wrong-way driver on Route 8 Northbound in Shelton caused a head-on collision early on August 28, 2024, leading to a DUI arrest. At around 1:25 AM, Troopers from Troop I in Bethany responded to reports of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes near exit 12. Before Troopers could reach the scene, the wrong-way driver, identified as 39-year-old Andrea Lynn Marseglia of Orange, collided with another vehicle. The adult driver and juvenile passenger of the other vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
