SNAP Benefits Victory

Attorney General William Tong issued a statement following a court victory protecting the SNAP benefits of 700,000 Americans. “This court ruling makes sure that Americans in need will not go hungry at a time of record high unemployment and food insecurity,” said Attorney General Tong. “Our lawsuit challenged the Trump Administration’s proposal to gut SNAP benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic and unprecedented economic strife. The court agreed this proposal was inhumane and unnecessary. Ansonia News: Armed Robbery

2020-10-20@6:50pm--The Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of an armed robbery at the S & S Mart, 95 Division Street. Two males, one armed with a handgun, entered the store and demanded the employee turn over all the money in the register. Several hundred dollars and store merchandise was taken during the robbery. The suspects are described as black males, one tall and thin wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, grey pants, black facemask and carrying a black handgun, the other medium height and weight wearing a tan and camouflage hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black facemask. HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont announced today that the State of Connecticut will be providing up to $9 million in grants to certain nonprofit arts organizations in the state to help them recover more quickly from the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Utilizing federal CARES Act funding from the state’s Coronavirus Relief Fund, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development’s (DECD) Office of the Arts will administer the COVID Relief Fund for the Arts program with the goal of supporting: ·       Arts nonprofits for whom grants will make a difference in terms of survival or rehiring; and ·       Arts nonprofits that have had to curtail operations for a period of time due to the pandemic and which have had…

Missing since Sunday, October 18th at approximately 3:51 p.m. is 84 year-old Teresa Zangrilli. She is suffering from Alzheimer's disease and diabetes. She was last seen near the Marshall's sign next to the Price Rite on upper Main St. at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Her phone was last pinged later in the evening near Chopsey Hill Rd. and Reservoir Ave. Ms Zangrilli was wearing the pink fleece top seen in the attached photograph, when she went missing. She had a beige v-neck top underneath. She was also wearing brown pants and black shoes. A Silver Alert has been issued.

The Detective Bureau is asking for the public's assistance with identifying a robberysuspect. The pictured male is a suspect in a robbery that occurred on 10/15/20 at 6:00PM at Home Depot on Connecticut Avenue. The male filled a rolling tool storage binwith DeWalt tools. The suspect then approached the exit door where he wasconfronted by the cashier. The suspect pepper sprayed the cashier and fled the storetowards Connecticut Avenue. The suspect is a black male, approximately 5’7” tall andweighs approximately 150 pounds. He was seen wearing camouflage style pants with ahooded sweatshirt, jacket, mask and ball cap.
