Westport News: Criminal Attempt at Larceny 6 th Degree

2019-10-09 @  7:04pm #Westport CT--Police  officers responded to the West Elm store, 35 Main Street, on a complaint of a customer attempting to make an $8.00 purchase with what was suspected to be a counterfeit $100.00 bill. According to staff, when the customer was told that the bill did not look real, he attempted to pay for the item he had selected with a $10.00 bill and did not ask for the $100.00 bill back. This behavior raised further suspicions and prompted the call to police. Responding officers located the individual in question, identified as Alex Burnett-Deroche, and initially detained him while the matter was being investigated. Westport News: Not A Pink Cadillac But Pink Firetruck!

(Westport, CT) - The Westport Fire Department unveiled a “pink” fire engine in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The fire engine has been wrapped through private donations and Fleet Auto Supply of West Haven. The department would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Fleet Auto Supply and the community for their generosity.   The pink engine will be highly visible throughout the town for the month of October as it moves to each fire station to show support for the national campaign to raise breast cancer awareness. Westport News: Larceny And Identity Theft

#Westport CT-On Wednesday April 24, 2019 at approximately 10:49am, a member of the detective bureau was contacted by an officer from the New Canaan Police Department who was reporting a possible fraudulent transaction that had occurred in Westport on the previous day. The New Canaan officer explained that his agency had arrested an individual for fraudulently attempting to obtain an iPhone at a local business on Tuesday April 23, 2019. This arrestee, identified as Thomas Welborn, had allegedly presented a forged New Jersey operator’s license in the victim’s name and attempted to purchase a high-end model iPhone using that victim’s cellular account.
