HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the state is set to approve $5 million in funding that will permit a new round of grants to begin under Connecticut’s Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition Program. #Westport CT-- On Monday November 19, 2018 at approximately 2:33pm a resident responded to police headquarters reporting that she had been the victim of fraud. She explained that two withdrawals totaling $2240.00 had been successfully made from her checking account without her authorization. She additionally reported that a third withdrawal had been attempted but not processed in the amount of $1240.00. All three of these transactions had been processed in person at local bank branches. Through investigation which included working with the victim’s bank’s security personnel, two suspects were developed in this incident. It was subsequently learned that these two suspects had allegedly gone to local bank branches presenting forged checks bearing the victim’s account information in order to make…
2019-12-15@12:07am--Police and firefighters worked together to pull a woman out of Long Island Sound near Penfield Beach who attempted to take her own life. Police said she has attempted this in the past. The air temperature was forty six degrees and EMS was treating her for hypothermia.

On Friday, students from Ludlowe High School’s chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers donated toys to the Fairfield Police Department. Police Officer Mark Letsch has been collecting toys for the last twenty years to be distributed to the less fortunate children in Fairfield, Stratford and Bridgeport. He says it is a “really a joy to see the children run out of their house”. They load the toys and deliver them in the mobile command center and they are “blasting Christmas music” from the truck.
