#Stratford CT–On 05-14-2019 at approximately 2:45pm a Stratford Police Officer saw a dog attacking a child on Everett Street. The Officer stopped and attempted to render assistance. The dog would not release the child and the Officer used his TASER on the animal in an attempt to stop the attack. The dog released the child who then ran to safety. The dog turned its attack on the Officer who used the TASER a second time to no effect. The Officer retreated and was ultimately forced to shoot the dog to stop the attack. The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. The dog died from injuries at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation and there is no further information at this time.

POLICE UPDATE: Beacon Falls, CT (May 14, 2019): Beacon Falls, CT (May 14, 2019): On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Troopers from Troop I-Bethany and Officers from the Beacon Falls Police Department were dispatched to the report of a bank robbery which occurred at the Liberty Bank located at 127 South Main Street in the town of Beacon Falls. The suspect, as seen in the attached photograph is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male wearing a dark-colored North Face brand jacket, a dark-colored knit-style cap and eyeglasses. This suspect is reported to have entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. The teller turned over an unknown amount of money before the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction.
Troopers and local officers have secured the bank and are checking the surrounding area. A K9 track is also being conducted. Detectives from Central District Major Crime Squad (CDMCS) are responding to the scene and will be assisting in this investigation. As always, anyone with information is urged to contact Troop I-Bethany at 203-393-4200 in reference to case number 1900230943. The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association will provide a cash reward to anyone that leads to the identity and arrest of this suspect. Contact 9-1-1if immediate attention is necessary.

#Stratford CT–The Stratford Police Department is investigating a reported armed home invasion that occurred on Light Street. The incident was reported at approximately 0415am at which time it appears that three men entered the home and demanded money from the residents. The suspects fled after one of the residents grabbed a knife held by one of the invaders. The victim’s hand was cut when he grabbed the blade. The injury is non life threatening. It appears that the incident specifically targeted these residents and home and was not a random act.
