Police UPDATE:

A woman ( Karielys Ayala)  seeking employment had an altercation with the manager (Bhagmattie Persuad) that resulted in the applicant striking the manager in the head with a metal object and the manager  threw hot water on the applicant.    Ayala suffered second degree burns to her face and chest.  She was transported to Bpt ER by ambulance.  PO Gaie responded to KFC and spoke with the manager then followed up with Ayala at the ER.  Ayala was being treated in the burn unit and was arrested for assaulting Bhagmattie.  Officer Gaie returned to KFC to arrest Baghmattie however she was no longer on scene.  He then went to her residence at 465 Ruth but was unable to make contact.  He spoke to her on the phone and advised her to come down to the PD and turn herself in.

 

2019-05-03 @ 2:45pm–#Bridgeport CT– A person came into the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 325 Boston Avenue in search of a job and spoke with the manager.  Unhappy with the manager’s answer he began assaulting the manager according to first responders.  To defend himself, the manager allegedly grabbed a pot of hot water and threw it at his assailant who then fled and attempted to drive to Bridgeport Hospital.  He made it as far as 790 Boston Avenue where first responders transported him to the burn unit at Bridgeport Hospital with burns to his chest.  The manager was treated by EMS for head injuries.

2019-05-03 @ 2:45pm – #Bridgeport CT – una persona entró en el pollo frito de Kentucky en 325 Boston Avenue en busca de un trabajo y habló con el gerente. Descontento con la respuesta del gerente comenzó a dar el Gerente eso fue lo que dijeron los primeros en responder. Para defenderse, el Gerente supuestamente agarró una olla de agua caliente y lo tiro a su asaltante que luego huyó e intentó conducir al hospital de Bridgeport. Llegó hasta 790 Boston Avenue donde los primeros auxilios lo transportaron a la unidad de quemados en el hospital de Bridgeport con quemaduras en el pecho. El Gerente fue tratado por EMS para lesiones en la cabeza.

2019-05-02 @ 12:22pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police received a call from Garden Drive and then a call from Fairview Avenue for shots fired.  A few minutes later police received a call from St. Vincent’s Hospital shot in the hip, the person was driven to the hospital by a friend and there are bullet holes in the vehicle.  Shell casing have been located at Tremont and Madison according to radio reports.

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim announced today that the City of Bridgeport will resume paving Thursday, May 2, 2019, on Albion Street.  Due to inclement weather conditions, last year’s street paving was suspended early.  The Department of Public Facilities will pick up where they had left off with paving Bridgeport’s West End and Westside. The paving is anticipated to last until early June weather permitting.

During this time, drivers are continued to be advised of the following:

o   Adhere to “No Parking” signs that will be posted to roadways 24 hours prior to paving.  These areas will be enforced, and towing will take place if a car is parked on a road that is planned to be paved.

o   Follow the detour signs that will be posted while paving is taking place.  Please plan accordingly and understand that it may take extra time to get to your destination.

o   Drive carefully and look out for raised structures and manhole covers that may still be exposed and raised until paving has taken place.

Bridgeport, CT – El alcalde Ganim anunció hoy que la ciudad de Bridgeport reanudará el pavimentación el jueves 2 de mayo de 2019, en la calle Albion. Debido a las inclemencias climáticas, la pavimentación de la calle del año pasado se suspendió temprano. BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT- The Bridgeport Police Department in collaboration with Department of Children and Families, Center for Family Justice, and Neighborhood Church Black Rock will host an informational session on how parents could ‘Unlock the Secrets of Your Child’s Online World’ in regards to phone app safety.

The informational session will be held on May 2, 2019 between the hours of 6:00pm-8:00pm at Iglesia Cristiana Renacer Church on 579 Clinton Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06605.  Light refreshments to be served during the session and organizers are asking parents to not bring children. The organizers are asking for parents & caregivers to attend only.
