5:40pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Viewer Peter Tessi confirmed radio reports that there a number of people on Route 8 northbound. He said there are a number of people on the side of the road with flat tires, two with broken windshields and a crash and crash at exit 22 southbound. 4:15pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Witnesses told me two masked men entered the Sunshine Deli #2 located at 1615 Park Avenue and threw gasoline onto the paper aisle and setting it on fire. The witnesses said that citizens began throwing buckets of water onto the fire until firefighters arrived. The fire marshal was quickly on scene and detectives were called to investigate the possibility of arson. The health inspector was also called to the scene.

Stratford News: A hand grenade was found today at 80 Garfield Avenue in Stratford. Officers responded to the waste management facility and found what appeared to be a hand grenade. The State Police Bomb Squad responded and disarmed the explosive and removed it from the area. The grenade appeared to be from World War 1 or 2 and was apparently discarded with garbage that ended up at the facility. Employees alerted officers to its presence. (January 11, 2018): Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime detectives arrested a former Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles employee today following an investigation of a monetary discrepancy at the DMV Bridgeport Office. Upon its Bridgeport Office manager’s discovery of the discrepancy, the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) notified the Office of the Connecticut State’s Attorney of suspected employee misconduct at the Department of Motor Vehicles Bridgeport office. The Office of the Chief State’s Attorney initiated an investigation and requested that Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime detectives assist the Bridgeport Office of the State’s Attorney with the investigation.
