NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Patrol Officers arrested a suspect following a stabbing reported early Wednesday morning near 125 South Main Street. Police were dispatched at 12:29 a.m. on February 12, 2026, after receiving a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who stated he had been stabbed in the upper left chest area, just below the collarbone, and that his cell phone had been stolen during the incident. The victim was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Officers broadcast a description of the suspect and reviewed surveillance footage from nearby businesses. Based on the information gathered, police located the suspect in the area of Grove Street. On Monday, November 3, 2025, at approximately 7:34am, the Fairfield County Regional Dispatch Center received a text to 9-1-1 message conveying an apparent threat to Coleytown Elementary School, located at 65 Easton Road. This text message read, “I’ll blow up Coleytown Elementary School.” This resulted in the start of the school day being delayed by two hours, the re-routing of inbound school buses as well as the evacuation of all those that had been on site at the time the threat was received. A city man who was captured at the Canadian border after attempting to shoot and kill his ex-wife on the East End in December was brought back to Bridgeport Wednesday. Joao Victor Borges-DeQueiroz, 33, of Bridgeport was arraigned in front of Judge Charles Stango at Bridgeport Superior Court on charges that included Criminal Attempt Murder, Criminal Attempt Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Restraint in the First Degree, Stalking in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Carrying Pistol Without a Permit. The Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the 2500 block of Main Street at approximately 1:30 p.m., where the first arriving unit encountered heavy fire coming from a rear second-floor apartment. Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive interior attack to contain the blaze. The fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes.
