Norwalk News: Fatal Motorcycle Accident

On February 4, 2024 at 8:19 AM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an operator of a motorcycle drove off the roadway and struck a telephone pole in the area of 238 West Cedar Street. Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Service were immediately dispatched to the scene and began providing medical aid to the operator, Jared Taylor 41 of Norwalk. Taylor was transported to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries. This accident is under active investigation. Stratford News: House Fire

At approx. 8:02am, The Stratford Fire Dept. was dispatched to 60-62 Park St. for areported structure fire. Under the command of Assistant Chief Alesevich, Engines 1,2, 3, 4, Tac5 and Truck 1 responded with a total of 22 firefighters. Car 1, Car 2,Safety Car 5 and FM office also responded to the scene. On arrival, heavy fire wasvisible on the exterior wrap around porch and roof of the two-family structure, andfire was rapidly extending up the exterior entering the attic. The fire was undercontrol in approx. 30 minutes in part to an aggressive coordination of fire attackand roof ventilation. Fatal Accident on Route 8

In a tragic incident on Route 8 in Beacon Falls, Connecticut, two children from Bridgeport lost their lives, and several others sustained serious injuries in a collision that took place around 3:30 p.m. near Exit 23. The vehicles involved were a Honda Civic, carrying two adults and two children, and a Ford F600 with one adult. The children, identified as Riquelme Alves Brito, 3, and Laura Alves Brito, 6, tragically did not survive the accident.
