Driver Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash That Killed Pedestrian On November 19, 2025, Patrol Officers responded to the intersection of Van Buren Avenue and Bedford Avenue after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle. Responding officers determined that the pedestrian had been struck by two separate vehicles. The incident was captured on a nearby vehicle’s dashboard camera, which showed the pedestrian crossing Van Buren Avenue in the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop for the red traffic signal while turning left from Bedford Avenue onto Van Buren Avenue. SUSPECT IN SERIOUS DOMESTIC ASSAULT ON BOND STREET TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY U.S. MARSHALS A felon wanted by the Bridgeport Police for seriously assaulting a woman on the East Side last week was captured in the Bronx, New York on Friday morning by United States Marshals. Frank Moreno, 45, had an active Bridgeport warrant for Assault in the Second Degree, Interfering with an Emergency Call and Larceny in the Sixth Degree. On the night of May 6th, Bridgeport officers were called to Bond Street on a report of a female outside covered in blood and pleading with citizens to call the police. Violation of Protective Order Leads to Gun Arrest On Friday, May 8, 2026, Norwalk Police Patrol Officers arrested Dominick Santella for Violation of a Protective Order following a family violence incident. Information obtained indicated that Santella still possessed firearms in violation of a Protective Order prohibiting him from possessing any firearms. Santella had previously signed a DPS compliance statement stating that he had turned over all of his firearms and ammunition. The Detective Bureau assisted in the investigation and obtained search warrants for Santella’s residence and his two vehicles. As is tradition, local Veterans will be riding in the truck and helping collect.
